Brazil Inflation Slows to 0.09 Percent in October
The slowdown pushed the nation's 12-month cumulative inflation rate down to 4.68 percent from the prior rolling-year figure of 5.17 percent.
However, price pressures continue exceeding the administration's year-end benchmark of 3 percent, which permits fluctuations of 1.5 percentage points in either direction.
The statistics agency attributed the deceleration primarily to a 2.39 percent drop in household electricity costs.
Last year saw Brazil register annual inflation of 4.83 percent, surpassing the monetary authority's upper limit of 4.5 percent.
